Sheila Smith, a tough hard-bitten Geordie, is an investigative reporter in Glasgow, who is getting pulled to Dunoon by events, the mystic Aggie, and her old foreign correspondent friend, Terri. Jim Roundsmith is the ‘King of Inverclyde,’ a successful, widely loved, popular Labour MP and an absolutely vicious paedophile hiding in plain sight.

After being involved in a shocking suicide, Sheila is determined to expose him, even if it means she has to get involved with Paolo Cannavaro, head of a cruel West of Scotland crime family, who loathes him. Together, they conspire to gather evidence against Roundsmith. Sheila ends up in court with her freelance photographer and hippy friend, Rupert, trying to prosecute Roundsmith, with top prosecution lawyer Greta Simone. But he’s a slippery and clever opponent. Meanwhile LJ McQuillan, head of another rival crime family, moves to take over the protection racket from Paolo with terrible results. Sheila has to find a way to send Roundsmith to jail and stop the warring crime families.

The Ghosts Of Dunoon is a tense, sometimes violent and shocking thriller, set against the wild beauty of the West of Scotland.
